The Psychology (and Marketing Power) of Scent

While bacon may be a crunchy, salty, crackling, and all-around delicious experience, few other sensory experiences can match smell for impact.

Its power stems from the olfactory nerve and its fast-track to your brain where scents are surprisingly effective at evoking emotions and memories. Not to mention their effect on your tastebuds.

According to studies, 75% of all emotions generated every day are triggered by smell, and because of this, we are 100 times more likely to remember something we smell than something we see, hear or touch.
